Roam Northern Mongolia

Mongolia will always be one of my favorite destinations to return to. It has everything an adventurous soul could wish for - infinite scenery and space to roam that your brain could not fully comprehend, rich cultures that have stayed unchanged for centuries . I don’t think there is a better place in the world to disconnect from overwhelming modern reality and reconnect with yourself while creating new connections with the people you share this journey with.
If you ask me what could be more wild, mysterious, authentic, and culturally rich than Mongolia, I won’t think for a second. Northern Mongolia will be my answer - and that’s where we’re going.
Our Itinerary
Oct 17. Group arrives in Ulaanbaatar and checks into the hotel. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner, get to know each other, and go over what’s ahead.
Oct 18. We are flying from Ulaanbaatar to Murun. After arriving at Murun Airport, we’ll meet with our local team and begin our journey into Northern Mongolia.
Drive to the Ulaan- Uul village. 220km 4-5 hours drive. Overnight in the Guesthouse.
Oct 19. After breakfast, we’ll drive to the home of our horseman, who will take us on horseback to meet the reindeer herders. The drive is approximately 80 km and takes 2–3 hours. Along the way, we’ll begin to experience the traditional nomadic lifestyle.

Oct 20. After breakfast, you’ll pack your belongings onto the horses and set off on horseback to meet the reindeer herders. The ride takes approximately 5–6 hours and covers about 20 km, taking us through beautiful mountain pine forests.
Once we arrive, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the daily life, culture, and traditions of the Tsaatan people.

Oct 21. You’ll spend the entire day with the reindeer herders, getting to know their way of life and experiencing their daily traditions. You’ll also have the opportunity to ride the reindeer and spend time learning about their unique relationship with these animals.

Oct 22 - 23. Visiting another reindeer-herding family and spend the day on horseback, exploring the surrounding landscape and experiencing their traditional way of life. Take photos and immerse yourself in the daily rhythms of the community.

Oct 24. Riding back to the horseman’s home. Afterward, we’ll drive to Tsagaannuur village. Close to sunset, we’ll meet a Darkhad shaman and have the opportunity to witness traditional shamanic rituals.

Oct 25. Driving to Renchinlkhumbe village, approximately 45 km and 2 hours. Explore the beautiful Darkhad Valley and visiting the Jargant River. Continue to Ar Bosgotiin Canyon and exploring the area before driving to Ulaan-Uul village.

Oct 26. After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to Lake Khuvsgul, approximately 250 km and 5–6 hours. Once we arrive, we’ll explore the area, take photos, and enjoy the stunning scenery of one of Mongolia’s most beautiful lakes.

Oct 27. After lunch, we’ll drive back to Murun, approximately 120 km and 4 hours. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel and have time to rest.

Oct 28. After breakfast, heading to the airport and flying back to Ulaanbaatar.
Things to note:
This is an adventure retreat, not a photography tour, so you don’t need to be a photographer to join. We’re there to learn, connect, and experience. But if you’re passionate about photography and would like some guidance, I’ll be happy to help. This is a phenomenal opportunity to document a vanishing culture.
No prior horseback riding experience is required, but it is recommended. It’s absolutely worth taking a lesson or two beforehand to feel more confident and get the most out of the adventure.

Participation cost: $5500 US.
50% deposit required to book your spot. The remaining balance is due 6 months before the expedition.
By participating in this adventure, you’ll directly support at least 15 Mongolian families.

All transportation within Mongolia including two domestic flights
Support team ( driver; local guide, cook);
3 meals a day
Tents, sleeping bags and mats

Personal expenses (souvenirs, etc)
Extra baggage charge (Limit of baggage in Domestic flight is 15kg total carry on and check in), around 2-5 usd charge per extra kg paid by credit card at the airport
